2D & Drawing

In my Drawing course, I was introduced to the materials and techniques of drawing. We had to create a series of increasingly complex still-life drawings that generated a more thorough sense of observation, an effective translation of space into two dimensions, and a recognition of drawing as a means of acquiring knowledge. With this knowledge, we transitioned to our two-dimensional course which provided us with a Hands-On Studio course in the visual arts that explored visual problem-solving. We discovered The relationship between the image to the idea and the use of formal elements (composition, line, color, pattern, etc.) in creating effective visual communication.

Hanging Still life

2020, Charcoal & Graphite

This was our midterm and our drawing one course. It was to test our skills and what we have learned throughout the first half of the unit. During this time I took this course online because it was during the peak of covid. This was challenging but I think really pushed me and will positively affect me in the future. This project was to take hanging objects and try to draw them. The first one had to be a piece of fabric and the second one could be an item of our choosing.

Final Still life

2020, Charcoal & Graphite

This was my final in my drawing one course we had to create a still life at home. Originally it would be in the studio but I took this course online so we had to set it up in our house. We had to have elements of fabric, hanging items and glass material. This was created using graphite and charcoal.

2D Color Projects

2021, Acrylic Paint

This is a collection of my 2D work. It starts off with our color practices. We spent a lot of time mixing color and perfecting the color wheel. Then we moved on to composition using only black, white and gray. Then eventually we would move on to using more colors. The Third-piece is a similar technique to the color wheel but is only mixing two colors and black and white. Progressively we focus more on composition and how the pieces make us feel. Then we were introduced to recycled paper and magazine clippings to add a different element to our pieces.
